![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Barceloneta La Barceloneta, the lively summer neighborhood of Barcelona is located along the Mediterranean cost, bordering with the Born and facing the harbor area with its famous shopping centre Moll de Espanya/Maremagnum. Founded at the end of 1753 as a home to the old fishermen of Barcelona expanding in a triangular shape, it is made of low buildings, narrow and small streets, little squares and includes 1100m of sandy beach which is the most popular of the city and largely frequented by foreign visitors. It still looks like a small separate village, lively with tourists during the day on the beach and at night in the popular restaurants and bars. The main street facing the port is Passeig de Joan de Borbo, a lively walkabout with the best seafood restaurants, bars, supermarkets, parking and many other services. It spreads along the cost ending with the emblematic sail-shaped W-hotel. In the internal part there is a large market square, home to many popular bars, tapas restaurants, shops, markets up till the Barceloneta Park, bordering with Port Olimpic. One of the most popular attractions is the Sant Miquel del Port Church, a baroque building finished in 1775, one of the oldest in the neighborhood. |
